Basso continuo

O crush me now, ye high rocks and ye mountains,
Hurl, heaven, thy bright fires at me!
How blasphemous, how sinful, and how wanton
Have I, O Jesus, thee forgotten!

Yea, though I don the morning's rosy pinions,
Yet back to earth my awful judge would draw me;
Ah, prostrate fall in bitter tears before him!
